FIRST EXHIBITION OF NATIONAL

WAR MUSEUM.

One of the notable features of the "Citizen-Soldiers' Carnival" to bo held.in the Town Hall aud Concert Chamber from sth to 12th March next for tho^ purpose of raisin? funds for tho* establishment of a "Community Club" at-Buolde-street for Territorials and Senior Cadets, will bo tho first exhibition in Wellington of tho National War Museum Exhibits. Tho loan of these .very valuable trophies for exhibition purposes has kindly been granted by the Miniatei ot Defenco, and tho Carnival Executive has decided to allocate tho whole of tho Concert Chamber to the display, which promises to bo one of the most interesting and attractive over made in Wellington. It is announced that the main Carnival itself in the big Town Hall "will be carried out "on specially unique lines, the huge auditorium being made to represent one vast grotto, with numerous small caves filled with stalagmites and stalactites. Tha jchemci lends itself to. the making of an exceptionally brilliant and dazzling display, and the Carnival Executive intends to make the most of it, making tho whole design astrua to nature as possible. There will be twelve main stalls, each of whifh will be in a sparkling cave. In the carrying out of this project tho Carnival Executive is receiving the most encouraging offers of support. Several big stalls, as ■well as side stalls, have already been promised, and it is liopod to have the whole of t'ne bala.nce definitely arranged for by tho end of next week. The Carnival workers arc now settling down enthusiastically to their, task, a-nd for the purpose of galvanising the whole movement a big general meeting of all league members and of all others interested will be held in tho Conference Hall at the Dominion Farmers' Institute, tomorrow (Thursday) evening, commencing at 7.45. The whole scheme will then be fully explained and the various committees will bo set up.^ .The executrwo expects a larg.i gathering, including repra» sentatives of entertainment .clubs, bands, business organisations, women's societies/ and other important public bodies.
