;I'UNEDIN, This Day. The local wool sales begin on Wednesday. It is expected the offerings will aggregate 9000 bales. This is a small offering. Growers are holding back in hope of. better prices.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 14th instant :— ."Free Wool Sales.—66oo offered, practically all sold. Merino wool 10. to 15 per cent, lower than on 17th December. Crossbred wool, very lititle catalogued; not much alteration. Sales clotee 27th January. Next Sales open 22nd February."
