BREAKING OF THE FEDERATION
IMPORTANT RESULTS EXPECTED.

The judgment dissolving the General Confederation .'of Labour is likely to have important consequences, as the committee has published its intention of acting outside the law. The judgment says that no National Government could permit tho existence of another which; under the pretence, of trades unionism, was established by a minority of agitators. It contrasts the war services of the confederation with the new revolutionary policy based on a network of alliances with powerful foreign trades unions wWch have espoused internationalism. The Government was bound to support the demonstrated resistance of the working classes against the policy of the confederation, and to assist the stimulation of labour activities within legal limits. A member of the Executive Council t)f the Confederation declared that the organisation would continue its operations, especially as 4500 affiliated unions continue to exist.
