Weather.—B, blue slzy, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, cloudy, passing clouds; D, drizzling rain; F, foggy; G, gloomy, dark weather; H, hail; I. lightning; 11, misty; 0, overcast, the "whole sky covered with thick clouds; P, passing showr-; Q, squally; R, rain, continued rain; S, snow; T, thunder; U. ugly, threatening appearance; Z, hazy. Wind—L, light; br, breeze; fb, fresh breeze; m g. moderate gale; g, whole or heavy gale; w, gale of exceptional severity. FORECAST. At 9 a.m. to-day the following forecast was Issued for the subsequent 24 hours :— Winds—Strong west to south-west winds, decreasing shortly. . Barometer—Unsteady, with a rising tendency. Seas—Heavy on the west coast southward of Cape Egmont and off short south of Castlepoint ; moderate northward of East Capo; rough elsewhere. Tides—Poor northward o! East CaCpe; moderate southwards; good elsewhere. Warning signals for southerly gales are exhibited at Stephen Island, Cape Campbell, and Nugget Point.
