THE DAVIS CUP
AUSTRALIAN POSSIBILITIES.
(Received October 9, 1 p.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day. The Daily Telegraph, reviewing the Davifi Cup possibilities, says that Brookes and Patterson are' certainties. Anderson previously seemed New South Wales's only possibility; but his form now seemed to preclude him. Ollivkir was a remote possibility. Brookes had requested that he should play in the Victorian championships, but this was regarded as a "sop" to New Zealand opinion. Victoria was likely to supply all the personnel. O'Hara Wood and the youthful Jack Hawkes are favoured. The latter has twice decisively defeated Brookes, and with his brother beat Brookes and Wood in the Doubles.
