FRANCO-GERMAN NEGOTIATIONS
PARIS, 7th October.
It is officially stated that no direct negotiations are proceeding between France and Germany regarding reparations, which are a matter for all the Allies.
LONDON, 7th October.
According to the Daily Telegraph's Paris correspondent, there is no truth in the statement that direct negotiations have been commenced between France and Germany, though it is. true that there have been conversations at Brussels to settle the problem of reparations. There is no idea of France abandoning the Geneva Conference, though President Millerand is likely to require, before he goes to Geneva, more formal guarantees from Britain and the other Allies than he haa thus far received.
