BAPTIST UNION CONFERENCE

AUCKLAND, 7th October.
The thirty-eighth annual conference of the Baptist Union of New Zealand was opened to-day, delegates being present from all over the Dominion. The Hew S. W. Jenkin, of Wanganui, is president, and the Rev. 11. E. Edi-idge, of Hastings, is vice-president, the duties of general secretary and treasurer being allotted to the Rev. R. S. Gray, of Wellington. The delegates were entertained at, a welcome tea last evening. The union executive met yesterday, also the Confetitutiuu Revision Committee, the Board of Advice and Instruction, the Annuity Vand Committee, tho Sustentation Fund Committee, and the Missionary Executive. This morning the .secretary's and auxiliary reports were presented and discussed. This evening the president delivered an address at a public meeting.
