The work of the .Brussels Financial Conference has been concentrated in four commissions, which arc expected to report at the end of the week. It is believed that the Conference will, recommend the League of Nations, to create machinery for the promotion of international credits, and to establish si permanent body to continue the work of the Conference. One outcome is that the French and German delegates opened direct conversations on the reparation question. A report has been circulated that one commission desired the Conference to make a pronouncement in favour of free trade, but this is denied.
