HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The House |of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. Mr. W. H. Field (Otaki) asked whether the Government would favourably consider appointing a Trade Commissioner iii U.S.A. to watch our produce in the American market. The outlook iji Great Britain was not too bright, and it was desirable that steps should be taken to develop the favourable market which appeared to exist in America. The Minister of Agriculture (Hon. W. Nosworthy) said the question should really be addressed to the Minister of { Industries and Commerce, but he. would consult with his colleague, and every step would be taken to open up trade with America and any other country which offered a. favourable market.

(Proceeding.)
