A RE-APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED
The Legislative Council met at 2.30
Formal notification of the naappointment to the Council of Sir William HallJones, whose term had expired, was received. Sir William was duly sworn in.
The Petitions Committee reported upon the petition of the New Zealand Secondary School Assistants' Association, praying for a refund of costs paid by the association in a case heard in Now Plymouth before, a Stipendiary Magistrate. The Committee recommended that the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. The report was tabled.
