QUESTION OF PRIVILEGE.
Whether it is a breach of the privileges of the House of Representativies for meetings to be held to express opinions about the Marriage Amendment Bill while it is still before the Select Committee, was a question asked the Brim's Minister by Dr. Thacker yesterday. Ha instanced meetings at Christchurch, andl particularly one at which things had been said about Mr. L. M. Isitt.
Mr« Massey replied that the Jneetihg3 had not cpftie under his notice. But in. any/ case, all matters connected with breaches of privilege were, dealt with, by the Speaker. The S'peakw- said that if the honourable member considered what had occurred,^, breach of privilege, he should make a complaint in writing, and the Clerk would then read out the charge, and it' would be dealt with by the House, which would decide whether a' breach had been committed or not.
Dr. Thacker did not press tha matter any further, ~ : ■'
