Judgment for plaintiff by default was given by Mr. J S. Evans, S.M.j at the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon in the following cases :—C. B Lem-priei-Q and Co. v W. G. M'Keman, £33 Is Id, costs £3 9s 6d; New .'Zealand Express Co., Ltd.. v. J. M. Scott, £2 6s, costs £1 3s 6d ; Brownlee. Ltd.. v John Kiley, £35 Us Sd, coets £2 19s 6d: H. T Haywood v Charies Melville, £43 10s, costs £3 8s 6d; Griffiths and Co., Ltd., v. K. Atkinson, £26 14s 7d, costs £3 Is; Wellington Plumbers' Union v Joseph Dudson, £2 4», costs Bs.
In a judgment summons case. Henry Bates was ordered to pay A. Mitchell the sum of £9 3s 6d by 19th October, in default 14 days' imprisonment.
Nurse A Johnston was ordered to give up possession of premises to A. W L. Shortt, a warrant if applied for to be issued after 9th November. Plaintiff was allowed £1 17s costs.
