ROSENEATH REQUIREMENTS

The city loan proposals were discussed at a meeting pi the Roseneath and Oriental Bay Municipal Electors' Association last night, Mr. W. Burridge presiding. Councillor W. H. Bennett said that after visiting Oi-ongorongo he was sure that the council had adopted the right proposal to make a tunnel through the hill. Councillor Len. M'Kenzie also spoke. Mr. Turnbull moved : "That as direct access to Roseneath by electric tramway with good road cannot be undertaken within reasonable time, we, tho ratepayers of Rosen'eath, strongly support the City Council's proposed lift, and the improvement of Grafton-road, and woulcP like an assurance from the council, before 15th September, that this work will be carried out if the loan is carried." The motion was carried unanimously. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the speakers for their addresses.
