The monthly sitting of the Upper Hutt Magistrate's Court was held on Wednesday before Mr. J. S. Evans. S.M. For failing to attend drill. W • Jones was fined 20s and 7s costs. V. E. J. Carr was fined 20s with 7s costs for riding a motorcycle on the footpath. In civil cases, judgment by default was given for plaintiff in the undefended cases :—J. J. Geange v. V.
