IMMIGRATION RESTRICTION.
It has been suggested that the Immigration Restriction Amendment Bill now 1 before Parliament does lio't safeguard the Dominion against an -influx of Asiatics who are British subjects. This is not so, for in the Bill appears the following clause: " A person shall not be deemed to be of British birth or parentage by reason that he or his parents, or either of them, is a naturalised British subject, or by reason that he is an aboriginal native or the descendant of an aboriginal 1* native of any Dominion, colony, or possession or "protectoi'ate of His Majesty."
