WOOL WITHHELD FROM EXPORT.
Replying to the constant queries of Mr. J. Vigor Brown regarding the position of farmers who have withheld their wool from export on Imperial Government account, tho Prime Minister states : "The opinion of the SplicitorGeneral has already been obtained^ in regard to this matter, and he adi-ises as follows : (1) The export of wool otherwise than by the Government, save with tha consent 1 of the Minister tff Customs, is prohibited by Oj'der-in-Council; [£)
the sale of wool otherwise than to the Government is prohibited by War Regulations of Bth October, 1918; (3) these prohibitions, so far as they relate to wool of the 1919-20- and earlier clips, will remain in force for at least two years after the termination of war by Treaty of Peace."
