The- House of Commons adopted, a resolution authorising the payment of £100,OOC as the Government's share of the guarantee fund in connection with the forthcoming British Empire Exhibition. Mr. Kellaway, in moving the resolution, said there was no better way of celebrating the great part played by the Empire ir the- war than the holding in London of this Exhibition ot tho Empire's manifold resources and (he activities of its peoples. The guarantee was conditional on a guarantee of half a million being forthcoming from private sources. There was every reason to believe that this sum wmld be found. It was necessary that our manufacturers should find nsw markets, and our greatest hope for this being realised lay in the Empire.
