PORT OF WELLINGTON
SOME INTERESTING FIGURES.
As indicated in The Post . yesterday, the port of . Wellington has been. -, particulary busy during the last few days, more than me. usual,number of oversea/ vessels having, been. berthed at the wharves. To-day a Post reporter' was supplied with somo interesting. figures, which indicate the large amount of business being transacted. On Friday last the following oversea- vessels, (given with their gross, tonnages) were in port:— City of Winchester; 7981; Mahana, 11.796; WestMahwah, 6000; Durham, 6975; Port Alma, 6669; Tofua; 4345; Moeraki, 4421; Paparoa, 7697; Kurow, 2551; Raranga, 10,040; Argyllshire, 12,097; Arawa, 9372; Tarawora, 1994; Philomel, 2400; Firebrand, 450 ;■ G-abota, 6000. Total, 100,614 tons. The- totalnumber of vessels in port represented 117,331 tons. To-day this total has''been exceeded. The oversea vessels,in port are as follow :—City of . Winchester, 7981; Ruahine, 10,758 ;•, West Mahwah, 6000; Port Alma, 6669;. Paparoa, 7697; Karanga, 10.040 ; Argyllshire, , 12,097 ; Durham, 6975; Kia Ora. 8031; Komata, 2048; Arawa,. 9372; Philomel, 2400; Firebrand. 450; Kumara, 6063; Kaiapoi, 2O03; Ulimaroa, 5777. Total, 104,556 tons. The total number of vessels in port. reepresents 117,612 tons.
