VICTORIAN LOAN
ATTITUDE OF BRITISH FINANCIERS.
XCIX
(Received June 11, 3 p.m.)
LONDON, 10th June.
Commenting on a Melbourne press message expressing astonishment at the inability of Mr. A. Robinson (Victorian Attorney-General) to convert the Victoria Loan and contrasting the London financiers' cool reception when, the money market was approached with the enthusiasm they displayed over the Commonwealth's efforts during the war, Mr. Robinson says that on the contrary he received every consideration from financial cirles. The fact is that Victoria can borrow as cheaply as but not more cheaply than the British- Government.
