INVERCARGILL, 15th April.
WJioii the Conciliation Council met this ■morning' to consider the dispute between the Tramwaymen's Onion and the Borough Council, the union's advocate asked for an adjournment "until the Wellington dispute was settled. The federation had decided to take up the case of all tho tramwaymen in New Zealand.
The Commissioner (Sir. W. li. Hagger) said he understood that the Christchurch agreement was to be accepted as a basis.
The union's advocate said that the Ohristchurch Union had "let the federation down."
After discussion the proceedings .were adjourned till 27th May. * '
INVERCARGILL, 15th April. An agreement was reached before the Conciliation Council in the soft goods dispute. It is based on the Dunedin award, and Represents an increase of 75 to 100 per cent. in.the lower grades, and also provides for closing at noon on tho half-holiday,, and for time and a-half overtime to all grades.
