The Poverty Bay Meat Company's steamer 'Admiral Codrington reached Gisborne this morning, and was inspected by a number of 'the company's shareholders. Mr. W. D. Lysnar, chairman of directors, informed the Press that it was anticipated that the vessel would make over two trips to England each year, and would trade direct between Glsborne and the West of England. He was not able to state definijjOly the cost of the insulation work done at Auckland in, converting a tramp into, a . refrigerating steamer, but ,the cost would, he thought, be less than half the price for the work to be done in England. There is still a. good deal of finishing work to be done, which it is hoped to complete this week. The vessel ■will commence, loading on Saturday, taking 102,000 carcases of Poverty Bay meat. PERSONAL. Captain A. C. Smith has command of the M.iy Howard, and Mr. S. Rutledge is chief "enginoer on the sclioonct. Mr. P. Johnson ' lias joined the Ripple as mate, and Mr R. BLACKBALL MOVEMENTS. From the Chatham Islands the Ngatoro ls due at Lyttelton on Saturday next. From Lyttelton she will go to Greymoutn to load for Wellington, where she Is due towards the end of next week. For Napier and Glsborne the Ngahere Is to load at Greymouth on Saturday. Her next trip will be from Greyraouth to Napier, Tokoraaru Bay, Whakatane, and Whangarei. ■About the 15th April the Ngakuta is due at Wellington from Greymouth. At present she is loading at Newcastle for Lyttelton. THE LORAIN. The U.S. and A. Line steamer Lorain le to sail from Auckland on Saturday or Sunday for Wellington, where she will discharge New York cargo of 20,000 cases of oil and 600 tons of general cargo. For Wanganui roadstead and New Plymouth the vessel is to leave Wellington on the 9th April, and will discharge 15,000 cases of oil at each place as well as a quantity of general cargo. The Lorain will proceed to Australia .from New Plymouth. ATHENIC'S PASSENGERS.
