The Coalminera' . Conference, after hearing the executive's I'eport following a further interview with the Gc-irisrri-ment, decided to submit two questions to a ballot of all miners, the votes to be returned on 15th April: 1. Whether they favour a general stoppage to enforce the Federation's claims. 2. Whether they favour the acceptance of the Government's new offer of a 20 per cent, increase, with a, guaranteed minimum of 2s per shift for workers over eighteen, Is per shift for workers between 16 and 17, antl 9d per shift for workers under 16, payable as from Ist March. Tim new offer is estimated to cost 35 to 3!3 millions.
