It is understood that ■ the striking tunnellers engaged at the Huarau tunnel, North Auckland, have determined not to resume work until the demand for 16s a shift for tunnellers and 15s a day for railway workers is conceded.
With reference to the increased pay to Public Works Department labourers forecasted in The Post yesterday, the Minister of Public Works states that the shilling a day is to be a bonus and is to be paid from Bth March. This is to.apply to all casual employees earning pay at the rate of from 12s to 14s a day.
