TRAMWAY SERVICE

THE EASTER CURTAILMENT. '

The curtailment of the Tramway service during Easter will be severe. As already announced, no cars whatever will be run on Good Friday. On Easter-Saturday a skeleton service, only will; be , run,/the, chief provision being made for the residents of the suburbs; Cars' from Island Bay, Lyall Bay, Seatoun, .and H&taitaiwill be limited,m number, and will.run, to Oourtenay-place on]y Cars from Karori and Wadestown will not proceed beyond the Government Buildings, and those from Brooklyn .will run to .Manners-street »n9 back. The service on the Oriental Bay, Wallace-6treet, Aro-street. and Thorndonquay routes, as well as-the:service: through the city area, will be entirely suspended. On Easter Sunday a service approaching the normal Sunday service will probably b-J run. The service on Easter Monday will be'normal. ' .'■.

The object of the curtailment is to give an opportunity far -a much-needed overhauling of all the boilers at the. powerhouse, Tho boilers at)present in use will be cut off "entirely, and the'power eupply" will be available from the new boiler.
