SATURDAY'S CONCLUDING

RESULTS

_ The weather on Saturday was fine in the morning for the 'concluding events of the Wellington Military District Rifle. Meeting, but both-Jight and wind- wore tricky late in the afternoon. The Wellington District Championship event, which was open to all-comers, and in which the Dominion champion Rifleman H. V Croxton competed, and other well-known Wellington shots, was won on a count-back by Sapper D. Catley, of the Post and Telegraph Engineers, Wellington, who took the very fin© championship belt, and. a, three-guinea medal presented by My. W. Devine, Palmerston North. Lieut. A. Williamson, of the Post and Telegraph Engineers, was second, and won Messrs. Stewart Dawson's trophy, and President H. S. Marshall, Karori Rifle Clab, third. Ka-rori Bifle Club won the Teams' Match, and appropriated the Wangamii Rifle Association's Challenge Shield. The Petone Rifle Club shot into second place. A special challenge Clip, presented by Messrs. Watson Bros., of Palmereton North, for the senior cadet over 16 from the Manawatu making the highest score in the cadet matches, went to Sergt. F. Mossman, of Feilding. A. popular win | was' that of Lieut. A. Williamson, P. and T. Engineers, Wellington, who | topped the All-Comers' aggregate, and won. Messrs. Collinson ajid Cunninghame's trophy. The failing light necessitated the reduction- of the rounds in the District Championship from ten af each range to seven. At the conclusion of the meeting, I Lieut.-Colonel C. G. Powles, C.M.G., D.5.0., presented the belts and trophies J won at the meeting. ,'.
