Thorndon A v. St. Thomas-—Thorndon batted first, compiling 195 for ten wickets. St. Thomas.muds 57 and 16, thus leaving Thorndan the winners by an innings and 122 runs. An outstanding feature of the match was the batting of Phelps, Thorndon, who rattled, up 100 (retired), scoring freely all , round- the wickets. Others who did well were liendry (26), I'rancis ,(14), Scott (13). Of the Thorndon bowlers Hendry was the most effective, with eleven wickets for 27 runs, while Scott, two for 19, and Sneddon, two for 11, did well. For St. Thomas, Cormack (29), Exter (13), and O'Connor (12) > batted best, and Ester was the most successful bowler.

Thorndon, playing Marisfc Old Boys, made 139 (Peterson 50, Pratt 21, Cole 13, Williams 17, Dennis 10) and 114 (Williams 44, Roney 22 not out, Johnson 16, M'Kinley 13). Marist Old Boys made 160 (Burke 59, Andrews 52, Johns 11). Bowling for Marist, Andrews took eight wickets, Burke seven, and Quirk two,' and for Thorndon Williams five, Peterson two, and Johnson two Marist won on the first innings by 21 runs.
