JUNIOR MATCHES

Murphy Bros. Pipeworks, playing against Imperial Supplies, won by seven wickets and.lll runs. Imperial Supplies made 165 runs (Rhodes 24, Taylor 66 not out, Good 23, and. Wood 29). ''V. Harris and S. Smith shared the bowling for Pipeworks. Mufpuy Bros.' Pipeworks responded with 276 runs for three wickets (Buck 13, R. Murphy 10", Binnie 65 not out, and H. Murphy 73 not out). Good bowled best 'for Supplies.

Marist defeated Korth by an innings and 19 runs. Marist's innings realised 162, the best scorers being Galvin 32, Be Muth 29 not out, Burke 23, Hopkins 22, and Hayden 22. J\orth, batting sliort, scored 65 and 78 in both innings, Tilyard 26 and 11. Lawrenson 21; Sissons 17, Moss 14 and 9,- and Ward 14 and 7 were the best scorers. Hopkins six wickets for 67, and Hayden six for 71, obtained the wickets for Marist, whilst Ward, five for 57, and Tilya-rd, four for 50. did likewise for North.

Playing at Hutt, the local team secured a three-point win from Thorndon. In the first innings the visitors compiled 60 (Prince 13, Sutherland 21 not out, Stanton 13), and 139 in the second (Edmonds 16, -Sutherland 32, Prince 46, Lowry 12). Hutt made 135 (Lowe 36 not out, Thirkell 10, Pai-rant 25, Spence 25), in the first, and lost six wickets for 67 in the second (Tullett 30 not out). Hutt won just on the call of time, and, at one stage, of the game it appeared as if the team was going to be defeated. Wickets fell fast until Tullett went in and he pulled the game out of the "fire" by vigorous drives. East, in their first innings against Old Boys, made 250 (W. Wifihton 62, J. Hutchings 41, B. Gibson 27, H. Osbor'ne 25, A. Lake 24 not out, Haughton 22, Lewis 13). Bowling for. Old- Boys Roesle, took four wickets for 47 runs, Morton four for 59, J. Bull one for 36. Old Boys, first innings, 193 (E. Smith 74, J. Bull 26, N. Smith 20, Eton 15, Morton 13, Souper 13). Bowling for East Lewis took three wickets for 18, J. 'Hutching.? two for 20, J. O'Sullivan two for 45, W, Wighton one for 27, B. Gibson one for 31. East won by 57 runs.

Playing against l Jetone, Institute in their first innings made 115 runs (Burt 43, Guise 21, Hall 12). In their second Minings 61 runs were compiled for the loss of four wickets, the best scorers being Griffiths, (not out) 17 and Ward 17 Petone's first innings realised 143 (Parrant 55, Ambler 16. Pointon 15, Martin 13, Borrows 12, Edlin 10). In their second innings Petone were dismissed for 51-(Martin 11).-. Bowling-for Institute, Solway and Ward secured the wickets, and for Petone Shanahan . and Parrant shared the honours.
