A record crowd welcomed Carpentier. It overpowered the police, and several people were injured. 'Carpentier states that he has given Mr. Cochran a month's option to arrange a match. M. Descamps states that the fight with Dempsey will occur where the biggest purse is. The French promoters have not heard from Dempsey.
