SYDNEY'S LORD MAYOR
DEADLOCK OVER ELECTION.

SYDNEY, 9th December. The Lord Mayoral' election has resulted in a deadlock similar to that which occurred in 1915, when the Government appointed tho Lord Mayor. Aldermen Richards and Lambert have received thirteen votes each. The Assembly has adjourned, but it is anticipated that Ms. Holman will appoint Alderman Richards. Prior to the election the committee increased the Mayoral allowance to £1500 owing to the advance in prices.
