MR. GOMPERS ON THE SENATE'S MOTIVES

NEW YORK, Bth December. Mr. Samuel Gompers, President of the American Federation of Labour, in a speech, said the Senate had rejected the treaty for two reasons, firstly, in the hope of political advantage, and, secondly, . because the Treaty provides an international minimum standard for the working people of the world.
