THE ECHO
Old Mr Hetherington was particularly fond of bragging about the wonderful echo which could be heard on his estate. One day, when oxpecting friends to dinner, he placed his servant in the wood, with instructions to repeat every word he heard said. There was, however, general laughter when he called out, "Aro you thore?" and the answer cume "xes, sir, I've been hero since one o'clock."
