OTAKI SEAT
MR. FIELD AT PAEKAKARIKI
Mr. W. H. Field, M.P., addressed a meeting of about 100 electors, at Paekakariki. Mr. A. M'Kay presided.
The speaker was subjected to some interruption; but was nevertheless given a very fair hearing. A motion of thanks but no confidence was proposed, but an amendment of thanks and confidence was carried. It is stated that a large section of the audience appeared to mis understand the question when put by the chairman. At the close of the meeting cheers were given for the Labour candidate and counter-cheers for Mr. Field and the Government.
