The Canterbury Jockey Club's Metropolitan Meeting was continued in ideal weather. The attendance was up to the average, and the track in. improved order. Pleetliam,.who was fallowing, was unable to clear Mandrake, .and fell on top of Ellis, who was removed to the hospital, his- condition being serious.
