Committee meetings of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club have been heltfi recently, and the racing programme for the year has been fixed as follows : — 22nd November. General Handicap to Petone to attend the Heretaunga Boating Club's opening; 29th November, first points races for first, second, and third class yachts; 12th December, second point races for first, second,' and third class yachts; 22nd January, annual, regatta, open event for all yachts; 31st January, third points races for first, second, and third class yachts; 7th February, ocean race to Port ' Underwood aiid back; 14th February, fourth points races for all classes; 21st Februnry, inter-club cup and rose bowl for motor yachts; 6th March, Mills' Cup for first class yachts, To Buru Cup for second class yachts, and Grey Cup for third class yachts; 13th March, ladies' race; 80th March, Alexander Turnbull .Memorial Cup for first class yachts; Bothamley Cup for second class yachts, and handicap race for third class yachts; 3rd April, rating race for Mr, H. Smith's trophy. Trophies were donated by the Commodore, Mr. W. Duncan, for the ocean race; Messrs. J. Gendall and H. Edlund, for tile-ladies' race; by Mr. Bothamley, to accompany the Bothamley Cup; by Mr. B. Clarke, for the first second-class points race. Donations to prize fund were received from Messrs. 3. J. Clark, R. Millroan, and A. Scott. ■ Tho Winder Cup will go to the winner of the fourth second class points race, Jind the Burns trophy to the winner of the third first-class points race. The club course for the first and eecond-class yachts has been fixed as follows :—From Clyde-quay starting line to Jerninghani buoy 9 Ngahauranga, Clyde-quay, Jerningham buoy, and home to finishing-line at Clyde-quay. The course for third-class yachts will be from Clyde-quay starting-line to Jerniiigham buoy, Coromandel buoy, Clydequay, Jerningham, and home. The course for the Mills and Alexander Turnbull Memorial Cups will be from Clyde-quay Wharf starting-line to Jerningham, Pinnacle buoy, Ngahauranga, Jerningham, and home. The races for these cups a.nd the' ocean race will be flying starts with handicaps at the finish. In the other races the handicaps will be at the start. The following racing flags were regis-« tered :—Nikau, green with white diamond; Waitangi, red with white Maltese cross. ' The official opening, for which they yPqrfc Nicholson Yacht Club and the Port Nicholson Motor Boat Club are combining, will be held on Saturday next at the Boat Harbour. Commodore T. Rona.yne, of the Port Nicholson Motor Boat. Club, will be the officer of the day. The combined clubs intend to make a display of yachts and motor-boats, after which they will entertain their friends at afternoon tea on "the hard."

A good afternoon's sport was provided by the Evans Bay Ya-cht and Motor Boat Club last week. Tho official opening was performed by the club's patron (Dr Newman) in the presence of a very large number of visitors. The commodore and several yachts of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club also attended the ceremony. Selections were given throughout the day by the Mii'amar Band and the Scottish Pipe Band. All yachts, launches, and boathouses were gaily decorated with bunting, and afternoon tea was provided. Owing to the rough sea and high winds, several of the items had to be omitted. Following is the result of -the various races and events :—Tug-of-war: Mr Ibbotson's team defeated Mr. Headland's team; Miramar Band beat Scottish Band, Blindfold Boxing Match: B. Edwards v. S. Fisher, (tie). Pillow Fight: S. Headland and D. Williams (tie). Men's Sculling Race: C. Headland. Men's Dinghy Race: L. Ibbotson. Boys' Dinghy Race. R. Dun-ant.
