TOFTTA FOR SAN FRANCISCO.

The X.M.S. Tofua was unable to sail from Wellington last evening for San Franciso, via ports, owing to there being a shortage in tb.6 stokehold crew. The vessel anchored in the stream for the night, and men having been obtained to fill the vacancies,' she sailed this morning. The following are her passengers :— Saloon: Misses Elyton, McMillan, E. Stall, Mesdames Brunton, C. I. Brown, Elyton, A. Gledhill, F. F. Haggitt, W. A. Menzies, M. H. Reynolds, Captain A. E. Cain, Paymaster W. J. A. Brown, R.N., Dr. Cassian, Messrs. O. J. Baden, F. F. Haggitt, G. Jonson, Lawton, J. McGregor, W. E. Rogers, and I. G. Smith.

PERSONAL.

Mr. W. Williams, second officer of the Bipple, has come ashore at Wellington. Captain A. E. Cain is a passenger for San Francisco on the Tofua.

The Huddart-Parker steamer Riverica is to leave Wellington at 6 p.m. to-morrow for Sydney, with passengers, mails, and cargo. The lonic is to sail from ■Wellington at noon to-morrow for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers.

WESTMORELAND REPAIRED.

(BT TEIEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, 13th November. The steamer Westmoreland, which arrived at Port Chalmers on the 22ud May from Bluff with her hull damaged, has been thoroughly repaired at Port Chalmers, and sailed early today for Timaru and Wellington to complete loading for England.
