Mr. A. P. Whatman has .providad the land in the suburbs of Masterton upon which to erect eleven homes for soldiers. The Commissioner of Crowti Lauds has written Mr. Whatman, "stating that eafih soldier will be financed up to £1000, subject to a satisfactory valuation. The milk tests at the various.dairy factories in the Wairara-pa are lower this year than in former years. This is attributed to the hard winter and spring through which tho cows have passed. Messrs. E. Johnston and Co. will sell furniture to-morrow, at 1.15 p.m., at No. 204, Ingesbre-streot, and at 1.30 p.m. in their rooms; also on Monday, at 1.30 p.m., at No. 29, Bay-road. Messrs.
