lie following motion was carried at the close of a public lecture delivered by Professor Hunter, on "Citizenship," at the Trades. Hall on Saturday night :— "That this public meeting is opposed! to the introduction of military influence in the educational working bearing on citizenship." At a meeting o£ the Chrietchurch Centre of the New Zealand Bowling Association a motion that the headquarters of the association be transferred to .Wellington was lost. It was decided to recommend the council that the number of delegates should be increased by two, one from each island. ' Members of _the Evans Bay Swimmingl Club are reminded by advertisement of the annual meeting- of .the club. The bal-anoe-sheot to bo presented shows the club to be in a strong financial position, and the secretary's report contains many interesting items for members, special reference being mode to the coming season. _
