MEETING OF LOCAL COMMITTEE.
The usual meeting of the Wellington Rugby Football League was held this week, when correspondence was received from Auckland, stating that a match between Wellington and Auckland, to* bo played at Auckland, for the Northern Union Cup had been favourably considr ered, and that the date arranged would be furnished to the local body later. The New Zealand Council wrote stating that as several members of the council were away.in Australia, and others were ill, it was not possible to have a meeting of the council until next week, when the letter from Wellington dealing with the "question of an insurance scheme for players, would be considered.
