PAY IN THE NAVY

LONDON, 9th May. ■ The Admiralty has increased the pay and pensions of petty officers, non-com-missioned officers, and men of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, bringing the pay up to the Australian Navy standard. The increases will cost £2,859,000 annually. The total cost will be £5,447,000 annually, and eventuailyit will be £6,148,000.
