RECEPTION ARRANGEMENTS
CHOIR AND BANDS TO
SERENADE.
Notwithstanding the early hour at which the Atlienic will berth to-morrow morning, the arrangements made for the reception of the men will hold good. The Patriotic Society's Band will be on the wjiaft together with the Civil Service Cnoir, and the Salvation Army Band will play in the Post Office Square, through which all cars with the returned men will pass. The Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke, C.M.G.), makes a special appeal to citizens for as plentiful a display of bunting as ' possible, and hopes, moreover, that as many people as possible will turn out in order to ensure.that the troops get a >gopd reception. 'The men, and their wives and relatives who wish to attend, will be entertained by the Mayor and' Mayoress, and helpers, at morning tea at the Town Hall, at 11 o'clock.
The Mayor went out to the Athenic this morning, and from the ship's side extended the men a hearty welcome back to New Zealand. Lieutenant-Col-onel Bell, in reply, said they were all glad to be home again.
