PRISONER ATTEMPTS TO ESCAPE
SHOT BY A WARDER.
(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) INVERCARGILL, 14th February. A prisoner named Robert Pomeroy, employed on the reclamation,.works, attempted to escape pn Thursday, and was shot by a warder. The injured maii was removed to the hospital, where he was operated on, and is now doing well. The prisoner was sentenced to five jrears' reformative treatment at. Invercargill in September last!
