After several unavoidable delays, the date of the annual Public Service tournament has been fixed for next Wednesday, and sixteen Departments have signified their intention of taking part. The Thorndon and Wellington greens will be the battlefields of the tourney. Play will commence at 9 o'clock sharp, and there is every prospect of an enjoyable day's play. The following is the draw : On Thorndon Green.—First section: Audit Department, Internal Affairs, Lands and Valuation, and Public Works. Second . section : Railways, Public Trust, Ordnance, and Parliamentary Buildings.

On Wellington Green. —Third section:. Treasury, Immigation and Munitions, Education, and s Justice. Fourth section : Government Printing Office, Labour, Government Life Insurance, and Post and Telegraph. The winners of: the first section will play the winners of the second section at the end of the afternoon, and the winners of the third section will also play the winners of the fourth section1. The final game to decide the winners of the tournament will be played on the first convenient date afterwards.

Colonel Collins, 1.5.0., CM.G., is the president of the tournament, whilst Mr. W. R. Jourdain (Lands Department) is acting as hon. secretory, and Mr. G. Scott (Treasury) as hon. treasurer.'

To-morrow, at 11 a.m., at the Salvation Army, Vivian-street, there will bo a church parade of the Rarotongan troops. Special music and songs will bo rendered. Colonel M'lnnis, of the Salvation Army, will speak, also Chaplain Burton. At 7 p.m. Commandant Holmes will give a special address.' ■ ■
