[Admiral Henry Thomas Mayo was promoted to the rank of. Rear-Admiral in 1913; he became Vice-Admiral in 1915, when he took command of the battleship squadrons of the United States Atlantic Fleet. In 191 Vhe was made a full Admiral, and took the Command-in-Chief of the Atlantic Fleet.]
