BRITISH GOVERNMENT'S' VAB-
lOUS PLANS.
LONDON, 28th January. It is understood that the Government is preparing various plans for the settlement of ex-soldiers on the land. Tie plans will provide small holdings for carefully-selected men with some capital, the State making up the balance required. The Government hopes that there will be a demand for a small piece of land with1 a free cottage. This demand could he the easiest satisfied, and would prove the least costly. The Government also hopes to settle nien o\tt intensively cultivated farms, under a manager,, where co-partnership and profitsharing could be introduced.
