SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE USE,

The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. Q. W. Russell) etated in the House of Representatives 'yesterday aftirnoon that, as chairman of the War Funds Council, he was sending a circular to patriotic societies, suggesting purposes to which they might apply the funds they held with benefit to soldiers and • their dependent*. The suggestions were: as follow : (1) financial instance to soldiers and their dependents as defined by the War Pensions Act; (2) assistance to parents of soldiers, though not legally dependents ; *(3) cost of travelling for returned eoldiers for health, business, and employment; (4) education, of soldiers and their dependents; (5) establishing bursaries at any, university "college^ higlrschool, or technrol college, for soldiers and. their dependents; (6) purchase of land, etc. ; (7)' purchase of tools, boats, nets, and other things to assist employment; (8) payment of premiums for instruction in any profession, business, or occupation, and maintenance while undergoing instruction; (9) establishing soldiers in any business or occupation ; .(10) medical, and mental treatmentl for soldiers arid theif dependents ; (11) hospital fees where necessary; (12) payment of friendly society and National Provident Fund.fee* ; (13) payment of life insurance premiums for soldiers and their dependents; (14) establishing fruit and poultry farms, either singly or in colonies. ; i
