LOCAL BODIES COST
A section of the "Washing-up" Bill provides: — "The expenditure incurred or to be incurred by any local authority or public body in providing medical treatment and sick-relief for members of its staff suffering from influenza, or for any other purpose arising out of the epidemic, during the months of October, November, and December, 1918, is hereby validated. Such expenditure may be met out of the general fund of the local authority or public body, or the local authority may make and levy a separate rate of such amount as will realise the amount of such expenditure.
