KHANDALLAH
A meeting of the executive of the Khandallan Committee was held on Saturday evening, Mr. B. Anderson presiding. It was decided that the depot be now closed. Members expressed their appreciation of the splendid help that has been forthcoming from the ladies, who have k«pt up an unfailing supply of the necessary cooking; from the owners of motor vehicles; from the Boy Scouts; from the givers of donations ; and from the telephone operators, who, with a depleted staff, had so risen ■to the need of the time. There was cause for both thankfulness and pride in the fact that of nearly 200 cases of varying intensity which came directly under the charge of the organisation, only one - had ended fatally—that of a returned soldier who had been gassed ait the front.
All accounts rendered to date were examined, and it was decided to hand them over to the Borough Council for submission to the Government for payment.
The executive will be obliged if ladies ■who have not yet obtained possession of dishes, etc., kindly supplied with cookery, will arrange to have them called for at the Public Ball .between 7 and 8 p.m. nest Wednesday. They would also be glad if any disinfecting sprayers lent are handed in at that time.
