BRITISH ELECTIONS
"A REAL DISTASTE" CRITICISM BY MR. J. R CLYNES. (MUTED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPIMOHT.) (Alia. AND N.Z. CABLE ASSN. AND REUTEB.) (Received December 9, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Bth December. The Rt. Hon. J. R. Clynes, in a speech at Rochdale, said there was a real distaste for an election all over the countryside. It was mockery to the franchise to put on tho register soldiers hundreds of miles from home, who were unacquainted with the candidates, circumstances, or questions in conflict. Whatever the result of tho contest, the Government could not be supported by a moral and lasting force.
