RAILWAYMEN'S GRIEVANCES
The Wellington Branch of the Locomotive Engineers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association passed the following resolution yesterday :—"That this branch of the association desires to thank the Miners' Unions and members of the A.S.R.S. (particularly the traffic men) for their expressions of loyalty to the locomotive men in the fight they are waging for improved conditions, etc., and we feel pleased to know that any expression appearing in the Press to the contrary is the result of a diseased industrial mind. This branch (Wellington) of the E.F.C.A. is absolutely disgusted with the manner in which the Minister for Railways has dealt with the association's claims for improved^ wages and conditions, and which is in etrong contrast with the able manner in which the Minister in charge of the Post and Telegraph Department has dealt with the requests placed before him by a section of the Public Service, and without consulting the other organisations of the Public Service. The branch calls on the executive council to immediately organise into taking militant action."
