QUARANTINED FOR TWO DAYS. <BX TJLBGRAPH.^-r-RBSS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, 4th Decemebr. Thirty of tho passengers and two of. tho crow of tha Arawa, from London via Australia, are suffering from throat trouble. Tho vessel will be quarantined for two days. Dr. Garcia Webster, of Wellington, roturned to'his home to-day after an absonco of seven weeks in Australia. He camp across to Auckland from Sydney by the Arawa, and was, tho only passenger allowed to land yesterday, all the others being detained on tho ground that a number of them are suffering from, throat trouble. Dr. Webster, speaking to a Tost reporter, stated that he was quite nt a loss to understand the action of the Health Department in quarantining the vessel. Ono or two of the officers have got tOß9ilitb, but only in a mild form, and thoro would bo, in his opinion, no risk to tho publics if the vessel were allowed to berth at an Auckland wharf. Ho intends to urge the Minister of Health to roloaso tho-steamer forthwith.
